Dimly lighting a fox baited area.

My remote vehicle night vision spotter is getting to the back end of its life, its also takes time to set up and re pack after use, i was wondering if anyone has used a dimmed red light or any other colour aimed at a set baited area, (not moving it around) will the fox still come into it.

Yip an IR set up run off car battery etc would run for some time and as said they will soon get used to it and you can use the IR for shooting them win win solution IR light system system 12v - Google Search just attach couple of PIR and away you go couple cheap batterys fae the scrappy charge one change one
 
I have used a small passive light before now.
They do get used to them but not all foxes!
Mine had its own batteries and a little built in motion sensor. I mounted it on a steel rod and could place it where I wanted.
I covered it in a red film .
 
Where I go, the foxes (When there are any) come under a gate and set off a sensor/camera that flashes red and blue and a light comes on. The fox then has to walk 40 ish metres over open ground before going through the hedge were its sandwiches await.
They take no notice of the coloured flashes or the light that comes on and carry on walking.
They even carry on walking when I shoot at them, sometimes 👍😘

Just buy a stick on one from Lidl or alike about £5. I have one in my loft and porch.
If too bright just spray paint. If it's on then something triggered it. Might be an idea to mount a rain cover on it ie a paint can with part of the side cut out.
On one of my PMs there are PIR activated cameras and triggers a light. Foxs badgers deer and alike are oblivious to them.

I've been thinking about a radio-controlled "alerter" ... Basically just a battery powered PIR sensor by a bait station or similar that wirelessly activates an LED at 'my end' when it's triggered.
With the LED shielded so that no light goes forward you could set this up anywhere and get a subtle indication if anything went into the 'kill zone'.

You could just put the LED on the back of the PIR and face that towards your vantage point. Anything triggering the PIR won’t see the LED as it would have to be in front of it.
