Guys
I’ve just picked up a bit of ground near me, its a small holding / farm of 80 acres spread over some woodland and some scrub and 3 huge paddocks which are really overgrown (head high) went and had a look around today and some of it has had an haircut around some of the fields and its overrun with foxes.
Its going to be a free range woodland egg farm, obviously there is a lot for my mate to get on with firstly doing the house up to live in and the chicken bit
Which leaves managing the fox levels for him, thinking of 3 high seats or doe boxes made out of apple bins to start as winters on its way to keep us a bit warm, but to start its going to be walking, standing and more standing until we can get a on top of them, later a couple of decent high seats at least and a plan, first few shoots will be pretty busy as we go along managing levels it will be regular visits and perhaps callouts it will obviously slow up
The good bit is its on side of a valley shooting everywhere is into earth always facing up hill 100%
There is no cost for anything the farmer is supplying the high seats materials etc
My intention is get a couple of decent weather proof double high seats up to cover what will be the main chicken areas asap
Who I need — someone who can help with the high seat installation first off whilst reducing on foot, and has a fox calibre rifle 22 hornet 222/3 204 .243 on a open ticket and willing to put some time in with me to get the place to a low activity level and keep it there long term
Preference is that A importantly you have the time to put in long term B your safe and can shoot out to 200 yds accurately, I don't want someone who is out elsewhere nearly every night like me, prefer a keen new fox shooter starter and show you the ropes and I have all the TI & NV gear for two persons - What I’m saying is you don't have to have all the gear —we are in it together to help my friend out, if vyour new to foxing thats fine
