Had 30 minutes spare so put together a small comparison I had sat on some video files

Great video showing probably the two best 640 sensor, 50mm thermal scopes available at the moment
The big 2560x2560 circular display really enhances the overall image.
I was skeptical of the "optical zoom" on the Nocpix but having had a chance to use it, I'm converted to its benefits
As opposed to digital zoom which makes a target larger, but less detailed, the optical zoom makes the target larger but without loss of detail
OK, it's not glass scope optical zoom which makes the target larger and more detailed, but definitely better than simple digital zoom
Frankly, these two scopes make the much more expensive Pulsar Thermion LRF 2 XP50 Pro with its small 1024x768 OLED display look outdated

I have heard that the optical zoom on the Nocpix increases the size of the reticle and goes out of focus, is that correct please Bruce ?

Didn’t notice the reticle going out of focus, nor the size of it that was on base mag also 8 mag with the optical zoom which increased it 3x so 24 overall. Was very impressed looking through one this week on a demo evening.

I have just checked that on two different reticle styles, and the reticle does increase in size as the optical zoom is increased but I didn't go out of focus
