I might just weaken for a really lightweight accurate PCP air rifle principally for squirrel control. I know little about the current market, what's best for the quarry nor what's currently on offer so advice welcome please.

I should add, I currently have a FAC .22 air rifle (RWS 500 Plus) and bottle.

TIA :tiphat:

Hello, There is a good deal on a Reximex Lyra at Pellpax , although how light are you looking at ??
Thanks @Flash G 74 :thumb: I failed to say that I prefer synthetic stocks and I want to go as light as practically possible that remains affordable. I see the Lyra is 3.54 kg - I'd like to get much lighter than that if I can. My RWS 500+ (original green synthetic stock) is a right lump! Its accurate, but way too heavy for what I have in mind "stalking" squirrels.

Not a lot sadly and quickly Googling around Moose's FX suggestion, I see the price goes up rapidly! The DRS synthetic is about what I'd like to pay.

Hello, It is worth noting there have been good and bad reviews on the DFX so i would try one if you can before you buy and buy from a reputable dealer

Sooooo....... update and thanks again to @Moose67, I called in at SGC, fondled a DRS Classic synthetic and bought it, and the 11mm to Picatinny adapter rail and some pellets. Having looked at the huge range of FX skeletons and other "tactical" offerings, I very much liked the traditional lines of the DRS , its lightweight and price. What clinched it was the ability to take a SAK moderator I have, its availability then and there and having the rail this side of Christmas; the small discount was a bonus.

Job done, thanks all :tiphat:

“To square the circle”, please find below pictures of the “fettled” FX DRS Synthetic with:
  • Thermion XM38
  • SAK Moderator
  • JB3D extended and adjustable butt
  • Grovetec limited rotation QD cup
  • Spartan universal mount
  • FX high Picatinny rail
  • Orion FX magazine
  • Gammo sling
All in with loaded mag 3.5 kg. Happy🤗

For other users, the FX rail only comes in a 30moa variant so at 30m, it’s one inch high at max Thermion Y offset as the targets show. I can live with that 👍

I should add, it’s a tad gusty here in the SW today so I’m VERY happy with the groupings😎
