Sierra pro hunter

Yep. Never felt the need to push them too hard - they work just fine on Roe through to Reds trundling along at mid-range speeds.
Worryingly even the Sierra shop in ‘merica lists them as “out of stock”….

Plenty of them in stock in this country. Loads of shops with them on the shelf at sensible money.

Brilliant through my Howa 243, 40grn of Rs60 bullet on bullet at 100yds if I do my bit
don't use anything else 👍👍

Fantastic deer round, very accurate and great exit wound for a good blood trail. All I used for years when loading my own from fox to Fallow bucks. Never let me down.

I used the 85g Sierra HP and the Sierra pro hunter 120g in 6.5 for a fair few years.
Back in the day if i recall correctly they were £14 for a box of 100.
The 85g HP I used solely for fox and the 120g for all of the deer species.
Never had a problem with stopping power.
However what I did find is that the 120g Pro Hunter loaded with 48.5g of N560
Approximately doing 2750fps use to break up quite easily.
Often id find bullet fragments when gralloching and processing.
I use to have quite an impressive shrapnel collection at one point.
Be interesting to hear what Acm thinks of them?

Hoping to find some time to load them over Xmas and get after some fallow with them. Have to say I’m really impressed with the .243 85grn hpbt gameking, superbly accurate and kills really well.
