Hi all,
Recently been sent some digital nightvision optics to try out.
Shooting Mauser m12 .243, Norma 100grn bullets, 100yards.
Trying to zero the scope and I seem to have ran out of elevation. Shooting around 3” high.
The rifle has a 20MOA rail fitted with sports match mounts.
Anyone had any similar issues or suggest some ideas on how to fix?
Cheers

Hello, If it is the scope type N/V you could try a shim under the tube on top the ring, 3 inches should be viable say with a cut shim from a coke can

By "run out of elevation" do you mean that the reticle cannot be adjusted any further up or down on the screen?
From experience, that is very, very unusual with a 243 - much more likely with a sub 12ftlb air rifle, but not with a rifle chucking bullets out of the barrel at or around 3000fps
The 20moa rail should put the reticle above the centre of the screen when zeroed, but it shouldn't be too far away from central and if it's any sort of decent NV scope, the reticle should move to the centre of the screen when the magnification is increased
BTW what type of NV scope is it?

Cheers

What I would say is possibly you or someone fixed a problem with the rifle by adding a 20 moa (been there done that)
Have you shot it with a 20 moa using a cheaper scope as they have far more clicks that a Swro/S&B
What optics are you trying out?
I would get a flat rail and start again as what you have is not working.
