Moderators going off ticket

Does anyone know when we are likely to hear more on the potential of mod's coming off ticket? (I'm expecting sometime, never is the answer)

It would be easier to wait till they are off ticket, but if it's not going to be that soon I'll put in a variation before the prices go up, as my club does not allow muzzle brakes any more and some of the rifles need a little calming

Do you know something that makes you think prices are going to advance, or are you just thinking inflation?
Thanks, Ken.

Would not need a variation, at £20 or £47, if they come off ticket. Would be far easier.

Wouldn't hold my breath as to when they actually take them off-ticket, so just easier to put in the variation before the price goes up. In my case anyways.

Unlikely to happen, was something the Tories proposed but I don't expect Liebour will pursue the idea.
I tend to agree.

They don’t appear to have made an attempt to incorporate any recommendations regarding tying the hike in the FAC/SGC fees to improvements in licensing (let alone the adopt 10 year certificate), so I doubt any thought will be given to other licensing recommendations - such as moderators off ticket.

I emailed my MP (Labour) in November about it, still awaiting a reply.

To be fair to him I emailed him about the same issue at the end of 2023, just before the previous gov launched the consultation and he very helpfully got a letter from the then-policing minister addressed to me confirming that a consultation would be launched.

BASC had already said the the Home Office remains committed to it, because getting the legislative space is the issue as the election changed the playing field.

Moderators that I have do not have any visible identification markings so why can't they just be exchanged at a dealers when the time for change comes ?

I wouldn't worry to much before long we won't have rifles to put them on

Probably because the replacement moderator is required to bear identifying marks if it was produced in recent years.
