Just been out to check zero on my WMR. at 70 yds using CCI standard WMR ammo at 70 yds less the I/2 inch 5 shot group at 100 yds just within 11/2 inches off of a bench type rest
It’s a near new standard barrel blaser and wildcat mod 200 rounds at the most with a 4a type decent hawke scope on top
Any suggestions of any alternative ammo
I clean it thoroughly after a 100 rounds then shoot it back in, at 50 yds it’s just one hole of the bench
Everything is locked off and works properly
Any ideas or another ammo to use
70 yds is my range for this one and it’s fine for that distance would like it a bit tighter at a 100

I had a rummage through a few write ups, it is faster and heavy, more so than the CCI
I’ve only got a few CCI left so going to see if I can pick some up tomorrow, and give them a run out sat night
The real zero for me is 70 yds so a heavier round should be ok, the 22 hornet takes over after 80 yds
Be nice to tighten it up a wee bit with a heavier bullet

Any Wmr I have owned hated to be cleaned. They always shot better fouled up. Also try and get your hands on a few boxes of Hornady 30gr Vmax.

Always been wary of using a clean barrel, I run it in steady, shoot and clean etc every 100 rounds I give it a thorough clean, the blaser rimfire set up is a bit different to norm but it works without fail, good maintenance should keep it working well I run the 22 rimmy on the same rimfire system / basis with norma NT and also is a faultless set up sub .50 with ease now it’s run in

I've tried just about all available .22 WMR ammunition over the years (including the RWS 40-grain load) and have found the Remington Premier .22 WMR 33-grain ammunition to produce the smallest groups in two .22 WMR rifles. It has the 33-grain AccuTip-V bullet with the polymer tip. I believe that this bullet is made for Remington by Sierra, although I could be wrong about that.

That said, I've never been able to get 5-shot 100-yard accuracy under 1 MOA with either of my two .22 WMR rifles, one an all-out custom rifle with match-grade barrel (pic below). It is built on a Kimber Model 82A action with match barrel and custom bottom metal and is about a 1.25" rifle at 100 yards. I've found this interesting because I can do much better with my Anschutz 1727F rifle in .17 HMR. That rifle gives me .75" 5-shot 100 yard groups. I've attributed the difference to the fact that Hornady wanted to produce more accurate ammunition than we have seen with the .22 WMR, although neither cartridge has ammunition designated as match-grade. The .22 WMR has always been portrayed as strictly a hunting cartridge. I think Hornady wanted come up with something a little more accurate when they designed the .17 HMR in hopes of outselling the .22 WMR.

Interesting - my WMR is really down to the clover leaf @70 yds above 80 yds it does open up, I’ll try and source some Remington premier and RWS

My 22wmr loved the 40g Remington soft points. Just be cautious though because they used to ping off everywhere after going through a rabbit. Never understood why and never had anything quite like it!

The 33gn Remington bullet is quite tough.
But then again so is the Hornady 30gn!
And the CCI bullets.
And the federal 50gn, old or new.

my 22wmr was transformed from mediocre accuracy to a tack driver when the 30-33gr ammo became available (ruger bolt action) rifle sadly long since sold
