Just wondering if this club is still going last I heard they had a 200 mtr range and if anybody has contact details thankyou

I asked the same question about 12 months ago and was told its not. Diggle isn't too far from there, about 30 miles.

Definitely still going, as I enquired about membership in December. The above email address is correct.

Regardless of FAC & membership status at another club, you need an “in”. If you don’t know a member that is happy to vouch for you, then you’re stuck unfortunately.

I always find this approach very odd, a lot of clubs complain about an aging demographic and low attendance figures, but don’t do anything to encourage new blood into their ranks. I know it’s about limiting the exposure of utter cretins to firearms, but their probationer training/probationary periods should be a fairly efficient way of weeding said cretins out.

I have another email contact for their member sec, but unless you have an “in” it’ll be a wasted email.

Can pass it on if you really want?

I’ve send a direct message to Blankfirer.

If anyone else wants the contact email I’ve got for the member sec I’ll happily send it on, just don’t like the idea of putting it out there on an open forum.

They are just following the legal guidance for clubs by the letter.

I know, s15 (3) Firearms Act 1988 basically allows the government to come up with whatever “guidance” they want.

It just hasn’t kept up with a modern society with fewer shooters. The guidance isn’t particularly conducive to allowing people to become involved in shooting sports.

Who did you approach, how and when?
Thanks, Ken.and
blankfirer,
If you would please give some details I will follow this up for you, whether you are still interested in joining this excellent club, or not?
In the not too distant past there has been some changes in Committee members, the Membership Secretary being one example. I’m not using this an an excuse.
Please reply.
Thanks, Ken.
