I’ve just started out and have yet to apply for my FAC, but I’ve recorded each of my guided stalks in a Google Sheets document with details such as date, location, rifle/calibre, and dispatched animals.
Hopefully it helps the FEO to see that I’m taking things seriously when I apply for my FAC soon.

My FEO suggested keeping a log as evidence of active stalks and kill for when i apply for my open deer license. The reason for recording times when i saw deer but taking the shot weather that be because the deer didn't present or just that it was getting dark and didn't want to risk having to find a runner in the dark could prove that i am diligent and considering the welfare of my quarry thus helping my case for an open deer licence
What is this open deer license you mention.
Presumably he means a rifle conditioned for deer without territorial restrictions.

Well maybe, but we use the expression "open ticket" which isn't correct either.
Hard copy record is definitely a nice thing. If you don’t have the time the Zeiss App or My Hunt App are good options. You can map your areas and record kills and other information. We are using on two Deer Management Plans I’m on. Zeiss has more options on the free one that My Hunt.
