It's the most wonderful time of the year!! 🐑🐏

Contact the NSA. They're pretty helpful about matching up students with farms.
Having said that, his college out to have a list of farms who regularly take on their students for work experience.
I think the list is shorter than it needs to be

My flock won’t start “expanding” until late March. After the harsh winter last year I said no more Jan/Feb lambs. Glad I’ve made that call, because this winter has been much worse than last.

Will also boost your lambing % too, more natural cycle for them mating later on

I use to lamb in the 80s, 200 starting Boxing Day and 300 at Easter, all in doors Christmas lambs finished on minimum grass, fed silage and creep feed, used to love it, single handed lambing in between feeding the dairy herd and followers, long days

First bit of ewe bondage for the year! 🙄 Very mild/early prolapse. Harness hopefully holds it all in (no spoon) & keep close eye as she shows signs of lambing. She's a home bred pedigree Ewe but unfortunately now sporting a cull tag, prolapse is a one strike out offence.

Hello, Lovely photo thanks for Posting, In my teens i use to help the farm Shepherd as he was a family friend , There was an old Hut to sleep in,

Our little flock is a bit bigger this morning. A pair of Ryeland x Suffolk tup lambs. Mum needed a hand as they both wanted to come together.

Plenty of room for tags!

4 ewes lambed so far and we are still at 200%. Latest ewe just dropped a nice pair of twins, so we’re at 6 tups lambs and two ewe lambs.

We've (officially) got 7 days today but looking at bags & how a few have hollowed out, I think some will go sooner. Pretty much ready (definitely shouldn't have just said that!)

Brought last year's ewe lambs home today, been off grazing solar panels but grass getting tight. Very pleased with how they are coming on for replacement ewes.
