Wapiti Ammunition

Early days using the 120gr non toxic 6.5x55, accurate enough, only two deer down but no complaints so far.

Bought a box recently to test

127gr 308 factory load. Shot incredibly well in my rifle.

Only two fallow prickets with it so far , but looks to work well.

First one turned 180 degrees and dropped on the spot

Second was a little more aware of us and got about 15yards from the shot site and dropped. Did the common heart shot little jump and plowed forward.

Will definitely give them a go on more deer but so far so good.

it’s amazing ammo and it’s all made in the uk
So the only thing holding it back is uk gun shops. If anyone has a shop and wants to stock it, get in touch. I know them 👌🏻

from what my local gun shop told me they look not to have done the HSE explosive classification which has significant repercussions on transporting it, such that the HSE could serve a stop notice on selling it. So they refused to stock it until such time they received confirmation which they never got. So basically it is no different to home loaded ammunition without the classification.

Hi Guys, i have been using Wapiti Ammo, for quite a few months, and shot my first Exmoor stag a few months ago ,and it was a massive 10 pointer stag just after the rut and i shot it at 120 meters shoulder shot, it span around on the spot and dropped dead in its own tracks and weighed in at 130 kgs pre larder, i was using Wapiti .308 COPPER and boy did it do the job, broken top of leg/shoulder blade and oppersite rib in half.....so thumbs up to Wapiti.......As a favour they loaded me some .470 for my double Rizzini rifle and that has proved very accurate with a huge DEAD BUFFALO at the end of this fantastic Italian Rifle.
And last but not least they Made me some .375 Holland & Holland Magnum loads for me last week to Zero in my new RIGBY made Rifle to Zero at Hollands shooting grounds and i used some Norma ammo and tested the Wapiti ammo and the Wapati Ammo proved more consitant to Zero............so i will let you be the judge...........................The top Instructor at Hollands asked me what ammo i was using and when i told hime about this English supplier i understand they contacted Wapiti and placed a large order.....................a great English product for the ENGLISH HUNTERS WORLDWIDE..........................Thanks Jeff

good ammo in my 308 t3x,im using the tipped 128 gn,is there much difference in expansion in deer for the untipped hollow point
My guess is the tip will help it retain velocity better so th tipped one will expand better further out

Their advertised BC for the untipped has it slowing down really quickly.

Did a bit of load development a couple of weeks ago as I don't have access to the factory N550.
Loaded up Gordon's reloading and used factory coal, N150 and aimed for factory velocity. Can you guess which one I went for?

Do you use a chrono as well, or just use grip size and watch for flattening/splitting?

Also where are you buying the bullets from? I can only find complete ammunition.
