What on earth are the threads on my Remington 700?

Aye I'm going to see how much it would cost. I know a few local smithy's. Thanks guys.

Hopefully with more skill and pride than whoever butchered that spigot first time round.
A competent machinist will take your mod and carefully cut the male to a tight matching fit. Ideally a mod and its mating barrel should be class 3 threads, not c**k in sock near enough.

Thread gauge will help with the tpi but you can also measure it of corse. Looks like a standard 17mm spigot at sight and there’s a lot of cheap moderators about. Everyone has their preference but most mods will do the job just fine. Many has the option to change the thread insert also.

When I had mine done in 2021 it cost £80 to have the barrel shortened, threaded and recrowned by JR Firearms who are near to me.
Hope that helps.

That J Russell? If it is Ive been to see them before. I have sent them an email, they have quoted me 75. I'm just going to do that.
