Hi

But of an odd one but is anyone willing to let me tag along occasionally on small vermin using a 22LR. Anywhere up to 2h sort of north of London. Essex, Cambs, Bucks,Herts,Beds etc

Why: I'm about to stick my FAC application in and will be applying for a 22LR alongside a proper deer calibre.
I already shoot indoor range often near me so have a good reason for 22 generally

But I want to get more time out with a gun that's cheap to feed working with sticks and cover and learning to be quiet and stalk.

I need good reason for legal quarry or it's likely my 22 will come back with target only until I can prove good reason. But obviously that's a bit of a circle it's not going to be easy getting permission without a gun I can shoot outside

Most of my deer stalking is guided at the moment on well used estates and that don't allow visitors managing the vermin due to the disturbance to the main business

I have transport, Basc insurance , always carry a thermos of tea and wife says I don't smell too bad and I promise to not be too annoying (or steal your permission/shoot the farmers dog/leave a rifle unattended on the footpath or any of the other horror stories I've read recently about taking someone along to your permission)

Its certainly not easy getting new permission or even getting someone willing to take you out with them any more . Those that have land don't want to share it and certainly don't want to lose it either and you can't blame them at all , I wish you both all the luck in the world as i know exactly what its like 😉

I took someone along who required a permission once, and it was agreed with the owner that they could shoot unaccompanied in certain areas of the permission only, it all ended badly.
The owner asked them to leave, and it left me with a lot of apologising to do to the owner, since then said person has avoided me like the plague.
