I tried a saddle mount on a set of Primos sticks some years ago and found they were too slim to support a rifle of any great weight.
I switched to a set of Rekon sticks with a hog saddle and they have served me well for some years now
As above a bit tooo risky.
If you have the urge to use a tripod look at decent camera / video recorder tripods. I have a carbon fibre bought for 30% the cost of "shooting" tripods. If I sprayed it green and stuck some camo tape on it I could make a mint.

The Tripod is a NEEWER and the clamp is a 3d print, the rifle on top is my Sako 75 weighing around 13lb, max weight load for the tripod is 26.5lb and the cost is £90. There are more rigged Tripods, after trying this i would have bought if i would have chosen the that route, these are around £150 designed for heavier video cameras.
The Tripod was 1st bought for photography and for using with a spotting scope, after seeing Tripods used with Hog saddles i thought i would try the idea.
Now before i get slated i know its not a £350 Rekon and never will be, and the clamp isn't a £300+ Hog saddle
