S410 Air Arms

I have an S510 and did a full strip and reseal myself at home last year. It's pretty straight forward once it's apart and quite satisfying.

Absolutely replace the firing valve as well as all the seals.

There is a really good YouTube video which shows how to do it in detail. It's about 1hr long but a superb video. I will try and find it

If you have a little bit of manual skill you can easily do it yourself, buy the O ring kit and use two or three Allen keys, nothing else is needed and there are many tutorials on the tube.
I did it like this and I had no problems, in fact it was even fun. Bye

All parts incl shipping recorded, for just short of £100.
I have just completely stripped the S410 & sourced most of the parts with two items on back order, from a very pleasant lady @ "Airgun spares at The Country store" Birmingham area, order shipping today!!!!!!!:)

Get the bits direct from AA.
Better doing it yourself as have heard horror stories about certain gun shops being unable to do even a basic seal replacement. I have done the seals on my FAC Daystate and AA s 210.
Get some high pressure seal grease to put on seals slight coating.

Having done this on a few occasions, I’d send it back to Air Arms themselves. Undoubtedly there are other competent folks able to do a good job, but AA see these day in day out and from my experience, do a fantastic job! No travel needed, other than to post it (just the metalwork - no sights or stock) to them directly.

The A A chap has packed it in , He's got bad OCD.

Similar but not AA, recently resealed my BSA Scorpion, while it was apart I fitted a regulator to increase the shot count and consistency, quite like working on air rifles

Hi

As suggested above, Mike R, on the Airgun Forums is the 'Guru'? on servicing for these - he did my S510 couple of years ago.

I broke it all down when the spares all arrived, Well, what can I say, someone without any care or correct tools has been into it.
1. Three hex head bolts that secure the side panel that has the slide for magazine operation were badly stressed to almost stripped.
2. The alloy mounting block that has the contents pressure gauge on it had been mauled by I assume some sort of grinding process.
3. Someone had been fiddling with the pot, (Reckon trying to up the Ftlbs), & a spring cap was missing.
I have decided to relegate the remaining good condition parts such as stock, cylinder, etc as spares for anyone who is doing a restoration & possibly in need of bits.

Hello, That is a shame for such a quality PCP, Is is not possible to source the damage parts and rebuild ??

Have we gone from service to scraping it? Are the internals that bad? Did it shoot when you got it or was it bought as a project?
