I’m a big fan of unusual names for my furry friends. I wondered if others like me like a more….. unique name for their best friend?

A good few years ago I had an English Bull Terrier who I named Spartacus . I never got bored with standing up in the vets when his name was called “I’m Spartacus”. Also had two bullies before him, Winston and Clementine. (Iykyk)

Currently have 2 Korthals Griffons, Mort (Mortice) and Izzy and a bitch GWP called Bob which confuses the vets.

Be interested in hearing if it’s only me, again!

Best name is DOG. Have had a quite a few dogs over the years . Would all respond to the word Dog. If there are more then one dog , quick point of the finger would confirm which dog command was made for- they also respond to own name too👍

Some of mine. Petra. Tam. Slipper. Kricket. Whisp. Blaze. Isla. Axle. Mink. Bonnie. Trace. Rum. Lace.
Cherokee. Samantha. Casha . Bracken. Dusty. Lea. Kess. And a few others I can’t remember

Chap I knew had a bullie called Trevor. I’m a big fan of human names for dogs. I watched a shoot out in Norfolk, killing time between chasing deer about and one of the guns had a spaniel called Daniel, not Dan, Danny….Danny boy…Daniel, and in the best traditions of spaniels it was a turbo charged lunatic, which resulted In Daniel come here, Daniel are you listening, Daniel don’t……and on and on….it was hilarious to watch but you would not want to be on a peg either side of Daniel!

I have had more dogs than I can remember the names of. Some of them were with me for their whole life (I remember those), and others I trained up and sold on after a few months.
My first ever sheepdog was named Joe after his illustrious grandfather, Dryden Joe, so I have a soft spot for that name.
My best ever sheepdog was a bitch named Tansy. Extra special, as she was homebred. A daughter of Joe, out of a bitch I had that was a granddaughter of Templeton's Roy. Tansy was my "dog of a lifetime". One day I'll name another bitch "Tansy", but it'll have to be the right one.
