Cordless drill

The green Bosch 18 volt cordless, had it 16 years done up two houses built several deckings and hundreds of odd jobs, just keeps going. Cheap n cheerful and battery fits other tools in the range. Only had to replace one of the batteries it came with two

My Bosch is a new one and is a pain - the bit keeps dropping out as the chuck never seems to properly tighten

I’ve got the makita 12v cxt drill and impact drivers. Really compact and light weight, the impact driver is more than powerful enough to screw sleepers together. I have added the 12v circular saw and multi tool. No complaints here

Hello, If my electric Einhell electric drill is anything to go by then the battery type would be on my list, 2 Year Plus 1 Warranty

I bought 6 sets of the drill/impact for our bench hands a good few years ago and they get used every day, all of them have been faultless and the batteries still hold charge.

When you’ve tightened your brill bit or whatever you have in the chuck rotate the chuck anti clockwise. Like your going to loosen the bit until you here a click that will stop it coming loose I’ll see if I can find you a video to explain better

Milwaukee, really expensive. Don’t buy unless you are going to use it day in day out, all the time.
Makita and Bosch, cheaper, but still very good. We use Makita and in 6 odd years have had maybe 2 returns. Used by plenty of professionals.
If you are looking for domestic use, the dewalt from screw fix or toolstation, they use cheaper switches, cheaper buttons and cheaper gears. But, the companies buy them by the boat load and sell them out cheap with a 2 year warranty. I know plenty of pros who use them and if they break within 2 years, then a replacement is got under warranty.
As also said, middle aisle of aldi/lidl. Parker range I think they are. Pretty good stuff for domestic.
And of course, the tool for domestic users is good old Rhyobi. If you read their warranty, it specifies that if you use it as part of your business, then warranty is void.
What ever you go for make sure you have 2 batteries and go for 18v, I wouldn’t go for anything less now.
