New Swaro Z5+

I thought I‘d share my latest acquisition. One I definitely don‘t need, but love to have.

A brand new, no frills Swarovski Z5+ 2-10x42. Non-illuminated Plex reticle, no dailing turrets, only ca. 500 grams light and 300mm short.
A lovely supplement to my 3-9x36 Zeiss Diavari-C‘s and 3-9x36 Swaro Habicht from the late 80ies / early 90ies.

In Europe they are only availabe in Italy and Spain. Otherwise they are restricted to overseas markets. I found a very nice shop in Alto Adige in Italy, who were kind enough to sell it to me and send it to Germany.

A very nice scope of ideal specification for most sporting uses. It’s a pity some wonderful models of the Swarovski ‘Z’ series aren’t more generally available.

There's a very simple answer to the question why this is.
Customers in Northern Europe have become completey blind with regard to what they really need. Instead they buy all the techie stuff. The more dials, switches and smart phone connections the better. Most of them don't even know how to operate those gadgets correctly. Consequently they will also never realise that most of it is dispensable for their shooting. So they spend the extra money and lug the additional weight and size around completely in vain and still feel great while doing so, thinking they have braced themselves for every (im)possible situation to come.
