Tikka T3 Timney trigger

Hi, hoping for some advise as I know very little about these triggers
So I've fitted the trigger and I don't know if this is how it's meant to work but this is the only way I've found it works
1. Open bolt
2.Put Safety on(it wont go on until the bolt handle has been lifted)
3. Push bolt forward.
4. Take safety off
5.Sqeeze trigger
Is this the standard operation or have I got something wrong ?
Any advise would be appreciated

How is it working any differently to the Tikka trigger?
The Timney trigger does not alter the feed, cock, load, lock, fire cycle.

So the Tikka bolt won't lift/load with the safety on ? It will also cock the bolt without having to move the Safety on and off

My timney 2 stages will work the bolt with safety on or off? Obviously only fire when off but all other loading and unloading can be done with the saftey on?

The bolt will load a round either safety on or off the thing I dont get it why I have to put the safety on so it will recock ?

Hmmm!!! So if you close the bolt saftey on it won’t cock the bolt?? Am I correct in getting that? But if you have it on fire and close the volt it cocks?

If I close the bolt with safety on it will cock but if the safty is off it uncocks if that makes sense ?

If I close the bolt with safety on it will cock but if the safty is off it uncocks when I slide bolt forward to load another round if that makes sense? So if I wanted to make a follow up shot in quick succession I'd have to move the safety catch on before pushing the bolt forward again

That’s not rite!! If the saftey is on fire it should cock everytime you close the bolt, I will double check mine within the next 30 mins,but I’m sure mine cocks the bolt no matter where the saftey is?! Does it ever slam fire? What poundage is it set at? Single stage or double stage?

Something is not right.
Is the trigger set too light . This will happen with the factory trigger if it's set too light.
dont use the rifle until you get it sorted as you could have a slam fire.

Also check sear height/engagement which Is adjustable on Timney triggers.
