I might be thinking of finding one ,maybe not i dunno. Anyways what model best suits a bigger calibre in someones mind that has actually owned one?? I used a traditional 8x50 on the .270 just now and although i like it ,the first venture out recently , with success ,was a roe at 60 yards-- my skilled calling of course .But as i have an optika 6 on my .243 i can dial it down to 4x when a deer comes in too close or i come up on a beast close by etc etc. So a variable mag might be the way to go .anyways opinions from those that have used hawke scopes welcome.

Hawke will not get a lot of love on here......but they do a job at a price point.... but limited capabilities for last/first light......

A Vantage WA 2.5x10x50 dot is about £250 ISH new and an Endurance model is a step up and is an extra £100ish. Both are illuminated No 4 style rets a d fixed parallax at a 100. Both 30 mm tubes. You will get a sight picture at low mag at below 70 yards fairly easily.

Might be better though, to find another Optika 5 around that price point? They do a nice 2.5x15x42 with side focus...but no IR.

The Optika6 is solid (just sold one) but more like £400 SH.
