Anyone on here specialise on very old houses and what you can do and cant do 🤔

There's an industrial fire barrier underneath it, thatches don't spontaneously combust.
Thatched roofs don't typically spontaneously combust without an external heat source, but they burn rapidly due to the flammable nature of straw or reeds. Most fires start in the chimney, caused by faulty flues or sparks from wood-burning stoves igniting the dry thatch. Other causes can include electrical faults, arson, or even bonfires, but the high-profile nature of thatch fires is due to their rapid spread and the spectacular visual of flames, not spontaneous ignition. 🤔

Glad I’m out of the listed building, protected frontage, conservation and tree protection game :coat:

Wet reed doesn't ignite that easily, chimney fires and electrical fires will burn almost any roof.
