duck boat build, opinions? advice?

I have started modifying my old Finnfamily 390 boat for waterfowl with my daughter and a friend

So far all we have done is a paint job. I ordered camouflage nets as well. Now iam trying to get inspiration for how to attache them.

The limitation is that its a small boat and it tends to be windy. So a low profile is desired.

Current ideas are 1 using a central mast and lines to pitch camo net as a lean to

2 using pvc pipes along the sides of the boat to stick fresh reeds, willows etc.

3 making a willow frame over the entire boat and draping the camouflage netting over it.

There must be someone on here who will tell you how to make your own. Mostly I think people who really needed them made their own.

You just need a background and some drab clothing, sitting/keeping still is key, I painted my dingy in camo colors and would turn it over with 2 V sticks on the saltings and crouch behind it. Just waders black trousers and a drab coat. Stop overthinking stuff!

its more of a fun project with my daughter. but i started off with a White boat, so definitely better now i would think. And you dont know my environment. Give it a month or 2 and there Will be no natural cover left and i cant exit the boat at all. Once i enter the swamp iam confined to the boat. And the duck are sparse and careful.

Thread 'Dingy done on time.....'

My little project finished with a couple of weeks spare before the start of the duck season, I did post some time back about steaming white oak for keel runners.

We glass fibered some black water pipe around the outside, also I made the rowlock holders out of 316 stainless with bronze bushes as the rowlocks I needed for the oars came up smaller than I thought.

A coat of grey and my poor attempt of camo lol

A friend kindly donated 2 pairs of oars also a pick anchor, it fits a treat in my Ranger buck with the tailgate down.

My £75.00 investment in a pram dingy should let me get on and...

Thread 'Knot really Confused....!'

I wanted to move my marsh dingy for the rest of the season, with Jack keen to gain more road time it was an easy plan to put in place.

Catching the in coming tide made short work of the row back to the outer sea wall leaving only a 200 yd drag to the wagon...

The swb's are ok but **** all room lol.....

He got the ratchet strap easy enough, however the sheeting knot caused deep frowning on such a young brow lol

Several attempts later the last knot was snug, following my comments of " running the farm in a few years requires more than sitting in a ****ing tractor cab" lol
