Which 22" .270?

I'm clutching a newly-varied FAC in one hand and my credit card in the other, but can't see many options for what I want...

Looking for a .270w with 22" scewcut barrel, picatinny rail.

Use will be highland reds. I've a .308 for everything else.

New options I've seen so far;

Sako 90 finnlight

Bergara B14 wilderness

Tikka T3x special order - unthreaded however and there's some doubt that the 22" version can be threaded.

Content with new or secondhand, wood or synthetic, budget sub £2,000 for rifle only. I'll be carrying this up hills so varmint barrels a no-go. I suppose I could fit an aftermarket picatinny rail, but the 22" threaded barrel is a non-negotionable

What other options are out there?

For my money? Abolt Hunter all day long. I have one so I'm probably biased, but it's an absolutely superb rifle with a host of seriously good features. 60-degree bolt throw, tang safety, rotating cartridge follower, removable box mag', etc.

I know where there’s a nice Tikka 695 with a lovely walnut stock. No idea what the barrel length is but the chap who has it can plumb you in a new one or shorten existing.

in a 22” version.

Tikka is still a great choice. My T3 has the 22.4" barrel which accommodates a 1/2" thread.

22” should be available but perhaps by special order. You need to be all over the Sako at Edinburgh Rifles.

Tikka or Sako, not much on it now the new Sakos have the integral pic rail. If you can afford it the latter simply as they are more hand/less machine made
