Post your favourite loads and recipes for .30-06 using copper / non - lead. Interesting to see what combinations are being used given how versatile the cartridge is.

Slow and heavy, fast and light?

I’ll start, usual caveats apply on using someone else’s data…

RP Brass (new) CCI 200, 57gr Elcho 17 with Fox 165gr classic hunter seated to 59.7mm
2900fps with Std dev 12

Trying some 148 yew tree and 150 Barnes TTSX next.

Results for Elcho 17 (RS60 / RE17) with 148gr Yew Tree. This load in .30-06 pretty much performed as well as it does in my .300WM.

Fantastic accuracy and speeds right up there. Also produced the cleanest cases after firing I’ve ever seen! Zero’d 1” high at 100 this will be flat out to 250.

175 grain Barnes LRX using 53.0 grains of N550 for 2750 fps. I haven’t had the opportunity to use them on game, but I have read good reports about terminal performance.

54.5grns of Ramshot Hunter, CCI BR2 primers, 165grn Hornady CX, seated 0.09, I'm going to try seating slightly deeper as so far it has tightened the groups significantly and I think the 0.115 might be the sweet spot to close up that horizontal spread

Just as a follow up to this, I shot a fallow buck with this, it was pretty effective but ploughed straight through. I also ended up putting a bullet into an 18 inch wide alder tree, it was pretty effective there as well, straight through. So not sure on the expansion of these at this point
