No idea! Positioning is perhaps the most important issue. A bit like placing a fox trap just inside a hen-house pop-hole.
Fishy cat food is supposed to be good mink bait.

I'm pretty sure that trapping an otter would not be legal, no matter how unwelcome it is.
Personally, I'd be pleased and proud to have an otter take up residence in any pond of mine.

I can tell you what it isn’t. It isn’t a beaver. They are much more destructive and don’t hide their work at all.

I’ve not see otters dig their own holes. Th are adept at using/taking over existing holes.
