How's the T26 shaping up?And a left-hander to bootLast week whilst inspecting one of our new-build T26 frigates I decided that it was time for me to go. My last day will be 15th September 2026, exactly 50 years from the date on my commissioning scroll. That's long enough!
Under what government were the keel's laid down Peter, as KS seems to be saying it is his doing? And a left-hander to bootLast week whilst inspecting one of our new-build T26 frigates I decided that it was time for me to go. Actually, quite well! There's been some "interesting" welding but the company have been very proactive throughout and fully engaged across all aspects. There some bits that could've been better designed but the same is true of many classes but be in no doubt, this is a very complex and capable warship. With Canada, Australia and now Norway buying in too, it's shaping up to be a formidable ASW force for the future. Don't ask me the question about the other.....................How's the T26 shaping up?
The first email in my inbox on T26 dates from 2013 (I became involved in 2015) but it had been going for some time prior to that; 1998 I believe with the Global Combat Ship really kicking off in 2010. HMS Glasgow's keel (for warships - first steel cut) was 20 Jul 2017 the same year as the initial Batch 1 contract was let. Conservative through and through IIRC.................Under what government were the keel's laid down Peter, as KS seems to be saying it is his doing?

Nope - MOD is very actively engaged with that aspect (both defence and attack) - CIWS is very capableSeeing what the Ukrainians have now with air to water drones sinking Russian ships it might be a case of being obsolete before it touches water but the Powers that be will keep all that very close to their chests.
Cracking buck.
It depends on what you equip them with, but it’s a good point.Seeing what the Ukrainians have now with air to water drones sinking Russian ships it might be a case of being obsolete before it touches water but the Powers that be will keep all that very close to their chests.
I have friends like this and it drives me mentalWhy are you ironing snotrags when there are fallow to be shot?
The only things I iron these days are shirts that I wear for special occasions or big shooting days. Retirement means that you don't have to give a phuck what other people think about what you wear on a normal day.
You’re not allowed to call them that now, you might offend someone you knowI have friends like this and it drives me mental
Even retired , I couldn’t go out looking like a paraffin lamp !
Standards Dear Boy,Standards!!My 95-year old Mother-In-Law still retains enough of her marbles to become exercised by a crinkled hankerchief so being a dutiful Son-In-Law I'm clearly happy to do my bit!
