Hi has anyone ever had any issues with Norma 6.5 creed more brass cases. I've had a few primers blow out and i know my load was bang on as i've used it for years , 1st reload of the case and well within pressure tolerance
Norma is the only brass I am using for creedmoor and never had any issues even with full power loads. Saying that there's always a chance of a bad batch or just few bad cases slipping thru QC

I can't comment on lapua as I am not huge fan of it. But personally I wouldn't be bothered starting a load work again with new brass( unless there is no choice) . Since it's only 4 out of 100 I'll throw them in the bin and carry on with the rest as normal. Don't get it wrong way, but there's always chance of error by reloader, could be the primers and many more reasons. All I am trying to say is 4 case failures are not enough to write off the rest

So the pressure exceeded the elastic limit of the case head & the brass was pushed well into the plastic stage of deformation.
Either the head of the case was softer than normal or the case was fine but pressure was higher than you usually have (or an unfortunate combination of the two).
I’ve just stated the obvious of course but it basically comes down to nothing else - as for why it happened? It could be an odd case being softer than it should be (unlikely but possible) but are you sure there could be nothing that could have caused pressures to be either higher in just those few rounds or perhaps generally higher in all with a few rounds being higher still?
