Deer sensing the storm 🦌 ☔️

Is it just coincidence the perm with large open fields and little woodland on Tuesday before the storm was over run with deer, as if they knew it was coming and they took the risk to feed up. Last two days of the storm not one muntjac, fallow or red. My assumption is they’re all held up in the woods waiting for the hail force wind to stop.

Anyone seen similar habits / movement? Discuss…

Yes, exactly that, except that the fallow, after feeding up before a storm, don’t move into the woods to lie up, because they don’t like the noise of the gale through the trees, as it makes it harder for them to sense danger. Instead, they tend to lie up in the lee of the woodland, hunkered down until the wind has dropped
