Invite your MP to see the value of shooting

Your MP could be a future minister deciding the future of your shooting activities. Each of us has influence as a local constituent.

You might run a gun shop, a game shoot, a wildfowling club, a clay ground or a rifle range. Perhaps you control pests, manage deer, or keep pigeon numbers down. Inviting your MP to see what you do can change hearts and minds – particularly if they have reservations about shooting. These educational visits are remembered when policy decisions are made.

The same engagement is invaluable for the elected members of the devolved governments in Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

Happy to help you with your invite, and on the day of the visit - message me - more details below.

Better still, ask them if they’re willing to accept evidence in support of management of common predatory species injurious to threatened ones, and base future wildlife related legislation on the findings of science rather than emotional or political expediency. If they seem unable to grasp the benefits of countryside sports by now they’re either biased against field sports, completely thick or being disingenuous, but either way, they shouldn’t be in the job.

No need to bother with Labour or Conservative types, obviously.

i wouldnt know my mp, if she banged her head on on my doorstep, i think she,s been my mp for about 10 years, i believe she like a drink or two on planes and likes to tell tories to go f*c* themselves. :finger:

I recon it’s a slow day at the mill and your looki g for something to do 😂

Some years ago, our MP was invited to a shoot on a local MOD range by a local club, and apparently enjoyed herself.......

I will do this

Though my MP - Lib Dem isn’t a flavour I’d vote for

My last interaction with my local MP, then Con, was over the trophy hunting ban

I explained that this was something I knew a little about

Borne on an African farm, worked for the Parks Department and, at the time of my correspondence, was doing some anti poaching work

He replied that he knew nothing on the topic but wasn’t interested in learning more

I politely enquired what other topics, about which he knew nothing, was he voting on, on my behalf

Answer came there none

Hi.
A classic case of "My mind is made up, please do not confuse me with the facts".

Last time I voted I walked into the village hall greeted by the conservative candidate, straight up I said how did you vote on brexit?

He voted for and I told him straight up “you’ve ****ed up my vote then” then promptly told him to
Do one!

I voted green as it’s my favourite colour🤣🤣

Their all crooks and not worth one ounce of fresh air

My local MP is typical urban leftie, despises "blood sports" and refuses to discuss such matters

But just imagine if he received 50 / 100 letters detailing the conservation work - the community - the free range food - the health benefits

My brother in law is a vegan and he thinks what we have done is great

Lovely in an ideal world, BUT we don’t live in an ideal world do we, personally I’m off the opinion, F the lot of them and keep going for as long as I/we can before they stop us.

I am convinced that he would ignore any arguments countrary to his fixed belief set, it is what he has done since he entered politics
Good to read of your BiL, but he's a rarity, perhaps one of the exceptions who prove the rule

Here are some examples of MP visits that BASC has helped folk out with:

I have had several MP s / councillors come mate - many with no idea or leaning towards anti - but when they come look - they have defo gone home with something to think about
I asked a couple of them to go to the local "nature" reserve first then to us and compare
