As per title, how do you stop the 5th leg popping off whilst getting ready for a shot? It’s driving me nuts!! It’s the correct leg for the sticks but it just bloody pops off at the worst time while setting up! I am not a stick expert but I’m trying 😂, I’m thinking about clamping it on somehow but not sure in what way

Strip of Velcro

So....... I use a Viper 5th on my Blaser sticks as I like to be able to slide it up and down the attached leg to give rapid elevation control. To get the perfect fit, I warm the clip with the leg removed using a heat gun and a squeezing it in a pair of gloves. It's a bit hit and miss but once done, the "sliding" fit last for ages. IMHO, you don't want a solid fit like the Blaser 5th that needs you to release a clip to move the leg, just a tight sliding fit. Works extremely well for me :thumb:

So you can use in front or behind. I personally prefer behind. I found the plastic clip was a bit mobile on the carbon sticks so I put a wrap of electrical insulation tape around the carbon and it stays put now. @wytonpjs likes his to slide but I like it to stay put and I alter the angle of the dangle by moving the foot with my body.

Also move both securing clips up to the centre of the sticks. God knows who thought it was a good idea to put them at the end as far from your hands as you can get! Another wrap or two of tape is probably needed here as well to get the correct fit.

I use the leg in front but with rough grass, tussocks and especially brambles, moving the foot precisely enough is a non-starter hence my liking of the "stiff" sliding fit.
