I try to practice the "live and let live" principle but with something so deadly as a brown in close proximity to my house, children or animals I wouldn't take the chance.

Last time I saw a brown I was just a kid. I'd been sent out to get a couple of logs for the fire and there was a three-footer coiled up in the corner of the log store.

I often wondered if they ever found that little girl I heard scream. No idea who she was, but I hope she was ok

A kettle of hot water on the arse end would have it out in a flash,after that you do what you think is best. The two tiger`s below got my best. Iirc one a shovel,the other the Baikal.

It will cause a problem,Browns are an aggressive snake that wont take prisoners,fine out in the field but not on your back door step. Would you leave it there as a risk to your family or dogs?

You’re terrible. They are seriously misunderstood and lovely and cuddly. You should put your face to the grate and tell him you understand and empathize and if he’ll just come out he can live at your house…..

I wouldn't kill it ,but he would definitely have to go . We used to have problems with Prairie Rattlers when I was working in southern Alberta . They were always looking for somewhere to hide in the short grass Prairie . Anything you put on the ground ,including my hard hat once , was a potential snake bite waiting to happen . Cool animal ,but not that close to home and children .
