Alaska, the last frontier

Haven’t watched it for a few years but agree that Atz Lee didn’t seem a natural to survive in that environment and went from one calamity to the next.
I didn’t mind Jane, bigger balls than her hubby!

I'm sure I'm not the only one to watch this from time to time, but there seems to be a common theme running throughout. Is it just me, or does anyone else find Atz Lee, and his wife Jane to be be two of the most idiotic, incompetent, unlikable, and callous individuals you'd ever be unfortunate to encounter? 🤔
The show is only as good as the scriptwriters (who are awful) and as about authentic as George Washington’s axe.
Best watched over a large malt or just turn the telly off….

Indeed. Watching that appalling woman handle a rifle is almost as cringeworthy as watching her patronising husband speak to her. No wonder they divorced 🙄

Not watched it for a few years, and I'm sure it was scripted to make it look worse than it should, but none of them seemed that capable at very much , otto in a digger was a disaster waiting to happen !

On the other hand I quite enjoyed the series The Last Alaskans

Thanks for the heads up on this.
I just watched a short clip of Bob hopping on the plane to leave Alaska. Bob seems like a good guy. I'll give it a look over the holidays.

Absolutely, so much better than The Last Frontier, I don't think Jane can be blamed too much in relation to shooting skills, or lack of, its her husband, you know, the teacher of hunting, you know, the tool with the tool. I stopped watching a while ago.

Bob Harte sadly died 8 years ago, seemed like a lovely guy, I always felt very sorry for him.

The last Alaskans were the real McCoy, Alaska the last frontier was about 6 miles from a Walmart.

“The final frontiersman” was a book written about Heimo from the last Alaskans and worth a read.

Bizarrely, Stan from Icemen used to be a member on here!

What about that tough as guts sheila on Life Below Zero that ran a refuelling post out in the middle of ****ing nowhere, survived a grizzly attack, shot caribou (on the show) killed all sorts of ****. Ate ptarmigan she shot, carried a thumping pistol at all times (bears) She also hunted a lot of caribou hunters.Sue ....I will look up.

Sue Aikens.

Sue Aikens – a 62-year-old (born July 1, 1963) woman and the sole resident of the Kavik river camp in northern Alaska. The camp is located directly adjacent to the Kavik River, 197 miles north of the Arctic Circle.

Watching Alaska, the last frontier was like watching contestants in a Darwin award competition. They were always going to not make it through the winter if they didn't travel hundreds of mile to shoot a deer, bear or catch a halibut. They were like a family of inbreds with poor shooting skills
