My late mother had a never fail solution to any mysterious squeaks, rattles, or whines in all her cars. She used to turn the radio up.

I had a Volvo C70 with a failing wheel bearing. The noise was unbelievable. As a prank I wore a pair of ear defenders when picking up my daughter from the school gates, yelling away in front of her pals as I explained why she had to wear her set. It's great that the young are so easily mortified .

Some noise is acceptable. Any new noise is cause for sleepless nights and worry until the cause is identified and rectified

You obviously have a different kind of relationship with your vehicles than I do with mine

I have a machine screw found on an unspecified live military runway, It is made of titanium, apparently off an inspection cover. The vibration a jet engine causes through its chassis must be horrendous.
