hi all, got a sako 85 in .243, going to reload forif , now what head do these rifles like, 65grn, 95 or 100, whats folks thoughts and experiences?

87 to 100 gn heads and you can't really go wrong...try the lighter stuff but less probability they'll go were you want them too....👍Nice rifle you have there

firstly what length barrel most 85's are 20" as standard and a 1:10 twist some of the bigger bullets 100 gr might not stabilise with a 1:10 my one didn't I dropped to a 70 gr Nosler which will do all you need I have since had a 26" 1:8 twist fitted to mine and it shoots most stuff now but seeing as I have about 1000 70 Nosler left that's what I use. Clean kills and no runners that's the most important thing.

I’ve had lovely little groups using 75 grain Vmax over RS62. In fact it was up with the most pain free load development afternoons I’ve ever had.

In my opinion the make of rifle has bugger all to do with the bullet if your rolling your own, you tailor make the bullet to do what you want it to do!

I’ve had CZ, sako, tikka and Ruger and never failed to make very accurate ammunition

I was told my 7x57 with an 18” barrel wouldn’t shoot 150gn bullets especially copper 😂

Easiest £100 I’ve ever earned took 15 mins 😂😂😂
