Subsonic

Hello im just wondering if anyone out there has a good subsonic load for the 6.5 creedmoor using 120g cx bullets .

Most of our club use around 5.0 to 6.0gr of Viht N310 shooting cast lead in 6.55, 7.92, 308 etc "elderly" rifles on an indoor 25m range.

No idea about expansion issues but you must check for keyholing, subsonics generally prefer heavier bullets.

Your bullet selection wouldn’t be mine but i don’t know your reasons ?

Lead is king for subsonic and old fashioned flat base and round nose , the shorter the better basically , slippery bullets are a waste of time to be honest

I use trailboss as i have a stock of it

Get an older lyman manual and extrapolate the data from lead bullet starting loads , always start without a mod and check for keyholing on the target

XXL has some data for subsonic 6.5 creedmoor although it's with 156gr norma vulkan. You could start with that and work down. All usual caveats apply.

Well in that case does anyone have any thing subsonic for a 6.5 creedmoor, mainly for shorter range rabbits

i've not used it on rabbits but in mine i use 9.5gr of trailboss and a 160gr round nose flat base , never bothered drilling the flash holes or any of the other subsonic tricks since it shot fine without bothering

as others have mentioned subs do bounce well so arguably less safe than full power loads
