HW97K .177 pellet recommendation.

Just bought this in .177 for a bit of nostalgic rat shooting, not shot a springer for 40yrs, whats your go to ammo for one of these….

Bizzy magnums, or the weirach version. Field target trophy's.
It should shoot a wide range of decent pellets and a few cheap brands as well.

You'll know you are carrying it about. Get a good sling for it!

H&N Barracuda, JSB Diabolo and Air Arms Field and Field target, weirauch, are the usual suspects.
You can get test packs to find which one suits your rifle best.
I'll see what I have kicking around and can post you some to try/test through your rifle.

That's lovely, I used to have one in .22, stupidly sold it. Ive always had good results with jsb exact jumbo diablo rs pellets. Always been the most accurate across a range of springers and pcp. However it will pay off to get some trial packs of pellets off Ebay and see what it prefers though.

They're a nice rifle. Bisley Magnums and remember to use the Artillery Hold method to allow the rifle to recoil naturally.

Springers aren't a fan of heavy pellets where as pcp's are. Look for something in the 14-16 grain bracket, Eley Wasps were always a favourite

14 to 16 grain are the heavier ones in 177.

Pm me your address. I've just looked and I've a selection of 177 pellets, QYS, Air arms, JSB, Daystate etc.
I'll post them to you so you can pellet test as well as use a load just to break the rifle in

Next move I think is get a scope fitted that’s compatible with my Krypton.

In 22 the bizzy mags at 21gn actually are mustard under roosting pigeons not to high up!
