Cold left overs...

Early doors trip to Nth Essex as these fallow are on a Am showing, what has often happened is they come from cover into this field (and there is always a but) this group of youngster's were bedded down 😱 not in the cover.
Sharp frost under foot also a low patchy mist to deal with, out to my left a lead doe and follower in cover very switched on!
The bedded down deer were starting to stand and my cold breath was drifting slowly their way:doh: get one on the ground Tim and see what happens!
A decent thump of the first deer with a clear path woke the others who were behind so what looked like 6 was 15! one rush to the right a couple skidded to a halt looking at their fallen sister then single file back into cover.
Oh well they have gone  waited a while then walking back to get the truck I could see the group in the neighbour's winter wheat, strung her up on the high seat to hang cleaned her out and back in the seat for a while more but it will be a "next time"
Not big but a doe so that is one less with a good number to go.

2 fallow does this week, out tonight.

It's just nice to see a write-up featuring a doe.
I have no cull plan as out of the 15 fallow in that group all bunched up 1 had a clear/safe path had it been a buck it would still had a hole in it.
The other 14 pilled into cover and over the boundary. I will stick to my plan which is per the instructions of all the farms I shoot for.
You can stick to yours as I have no interest in others "plan" as it is theirs not mine. :tiphat:
