Hi all,
Variation has just arrived and I’m after a .308 for woodland stalking. I’ve got a budget of ~£600 for a bare rifle but I’m open to spending more on an outfit/package.

Cheers!

If it’s your first 308 and you want something just for woodland Shooting, I have a BSA bolt-action, floor plate, think it’s three or five shot? Iron sights, that I going to put up for £150, because it’s just gathering dust in the cabinet. It’s nothing fancy, but fully functional.

Yep, just seeing if there’s anything out there that might not be listed! Haha, which is it your considering so I know not to buy it?!
Frankly I am all over the place with this.

I have a lovely wood stock S&L in .243 and a little old Sako A1 varmint in .222. Both of which appeal to me in different way.

With the .308 I want to go light short barrel.

So I have looked at all sorts and am even considering a new ATA turqua or Sabatti.

Missed out on a Sako 85 full set up for under a grand the other week 🤬.

Ah we’re in similar boats then! I’ve a beautiful Steyr Mannlicher Luxus Stutzen in .243 but I really need something moderated and slightly more “expendable”, and ideally with a short barrel!

Got a Steyer jagd match 308 with 2 stocks original laminated one and a ssg one ssg bolt handle and original spoon type 3 mags two trigger housings new iron sights swaro 8x50 on spelling mounts it was my stalking rifle for the last 35 years only shot about 2000 rounds I think I’m only guessing on that more than likely less very accurate double set trigger I’ll be sad to see it go looking £750
