speed read

That was interesting! I managed it at top speed too. I reckon I was right on my limit though
That was fun!
As said I did it pretty well but then thought of those among us that barely got through level 1,we know whom they are. One of my daughters,an avid reader said after I had sent it to her " no one should have a problem with that at all"
Unfortunately teaching standards in our countries are up to schitt and daily reading of any news service readily shows this in so called professional journalism/reporting.
Books and more books from an early age is a major key to many things.

I devoured everything I could find from a really early age. I don't read as much these days, sadly. That's more of a time issue though. I should really remedy it and revisit some old friends

Yes I was reading madly from a young age as every kid "should"
I devoured Man-eaters of Kumaon circa 8 years old at my granddads and continue to read madly today.I used to get in the **** from my dear old mum as she would spring me reading by torchlight under the blankets when i was supposedly sleeping as some books you just cant put down.

Same here 😆Wilbur Smith, Willard Price, anything by James Herriot. I even started reading Hemingway. Alistair McLean, and loads of others

I discovered The Carpetbaggers. I was barely in my young teens and for me what a rollicking ride it was through history...an original pulp fiction book full of sins and excess and based on real people.
My old man handed me The Godfather at 17 years saying 'this is one you wont put down' and it was another that i read till i dropped,so many books,so few readers.
