Why is stuff in the UK so crap?
Bought an obd reader for my car from France.
Paid the import duty over a week ago. Not delivered. Waited an hour on the phone to speak to an actual person after jumping through several hoops that assured me I'd have it this Monday gone.
Nope. Now waiting in a cue again for 57 mins so far.
Why is it that whilst I'm waiting I'm limited internet wise thanks to BT owned EE?
Britain is n absolute joke. An absolute sess pit of bull****.
I've loathed this country since a wee lad and it was 100x better back then!

Mostly because so much of consumer product industry is owned and controlled overseas, with minimal interest regarding quality, lifespan, or customer service. The only thing these companies care about is profit.

And if they p*ss off thousands of people in the meantime? They don't care, they've got your money and there'll always be more customers 🤔

Long story short, I waited over an hour on hold with them the other day because instead of diverting my parcel to the post office like I'd requested, they'd kept trying to deliver it here instead and then eventually given up. Bloke had put a card through the door saying I had to go online to organise redelivery, but when I did that it said (correctly) that I'd already diverted it.

Anyway, I went to the post office the day after to see if it had found its way there. Nope. Ditto local sorting office, where the woman even told me she'd had the exact same thing happen to a parcel she was expecting and that it was some kind of problem in their system!

So, I rang them (even that isn't easy, they try really hard not to let you find that number online and THEN it asks you all the same stuff the online portal asks you before it decides you're allowed to go on hold) waited on hold an hour, and finally got through to a lady who told me she'd get it redelivered for me the following Saturday. I got an email saying it would come on Saturday. The tracking site said it would come on Saturday. Mrs Simple Simon waited in all day.

Did it come on Saturday?

Did it f*** 🤯😡

Bloke rocked up with it on Monday and just by pure random chance I was actually at home.
 
Why does my phone say 5G but it's slower than before any freaking G's just because I'm on hold to another **** British organisation?
What a **** country.

Don’t get me started on BT & broadband… 🤬

Apparently they do not have the capacity within their fibre optic infrastructure locally to supply the long established area where I live. They put this in writing as the reason they could not proceed with a planned grant funded installation despite the fact that some 250 households signed up & pledged their grant vouchers for the service.

They do however have the capacity to supply fibre optic to a new development of 300 houses that are under construction literally the opposite side of the road in what used to be an arable field. They’ve already put the main connection into it.

Told them to stick it & for less than half the price I was paying for their 8-9Mbps I now have fibre to the property from Trooli with 500Mbps.

There’s no doubt that your service industries aren’t working like they used to, but the good old days of ordering stuff from Europe and having it delivered post haste and free of customs duties, vat and excise are gone.
The barstards are getting good at it too.

That's my retirement plan mate, 3rd world... been there (north Africa), lived there (middle east), still more positives than this overcrowded rip off sh1t hole.

Not being rude but why don’t you ? What’s stopping you ? If every day you feel crap here in the uk , do something about it, many have done already. Get control of your destiny, and life becomes easier !

Money, or rather the lack of it. Partly due to the UK tax burden on the grafter.
