It's happening with good arable land as well. The trick is to stop fertilising the land, yields go down over 5 or 6 years, then you can ask for it to be covered in solar panels because it's unproductive land

There is too little profit in cereals, pots, rape, sugar beet. Plus all the risk.
We need to pay farmers more for food to stop this happening
