KHV is a horrendous virus, i’ve seen fisheries wiped out in a matter of weeks and the sight of dead fish littered on the surface of a lake is not nice.

Yep, and getting rid of it is the devil's job, even in a small lake, any large watercourse, it's impossible.
Why any dumb mother"ucker would want to introduce a virus like that into a water system to get rid of an alien species is beyond me. It's not as if Australia hasn't got plenty of those already, a few carp fit well into the equation.
