Carp disappearing from lakes around Wisbech is common enough... usually Eastern European immigrants though.

Hey that sounds interesting, a Fox taking enough Carp from a lake (not a pond) to become a problem… this would suggest a regular occurrence and the Fox in question has become adept at ‘hunting ‘ Carp from the lake.
I’d really like to see some footage of this Fox at work…. does it go out in a rowboat, donning snorkel and fins lol.

Depending on size electric fence may be a solution, not every pest needs to die

It won't be long and the herons will be feeding young, then you need your defences up to scratch.
Luckily we don't have otters to contend with as my wife has loads of big goldfish in our garden pond.

It will happen in time, unless you are fenced.
I'm in Breckland, and otters have ravaged every garden pond, lake, stream or river I know about.
Just started up this way - the damage and the death they bring as well as their undoubted beauty is unbelievable

I hope you have your fishery fenced, mate. And all the little wildlife ponds, they will eat everything, fish and birdlife. It doesn't need to be very high, you need a decent outturn on the top, floppy as well.
