I’ll believe t when it happensPrice doesn't come in to it if they need culling.
A bounty should be paid for each animal culled.
But its all pie in the sky as nothing will change .
We need a big processing plant up North.

Unfortunately, you are correct or as I would normally say when health freezes over I’ll believe itIt wont , nothing will change.
Hope your elf dont freeze over.Unfortunately, you are correct or as I would normally say when health freezes over I’ll believe it
They came for the grouse , now they are coming for the deer. It’s a politically driven attack, as is evidenced by the lack of plan for economic land use alternatives - they simply wish to see ‘the toffs’ and the estates staff off, but have nothing of value to the rural communities to replace the income and sustainable management.
There’s no great demand for sika stalking in spruce woodlands, and ‘out of sight, out of mind’ is their preferrred response to this non-politically motivated issue.
seems to be a lot of people here gunning for socialism in the deer shooing world
Completely Agree, but like I said one person can only be in one place at a one time! What the land owners do and don’t do, or who they allow or don’t allow to shoot their land is their business.
And there’s nothing you or anyone can do about it.
I'm certainly shooting more deer in Stirlingshire since getting a 50% grant towards a decent chiller (not the above scheme), if I can access more land in the area then I'll shoot even more.I think they tried that in Stirling to Bearsden and only 10 rec deer managers took up the challenge. the spare money was used to give half price fridges to any body who would say it makes them shoot more deer.
You have absolutely no idea! Most recreational stalkers want to feel there freezer or give to mates and family.
Thus keeping up the game dealers prices at same rate.
Perhaps I don't have any idea. You have absolutely no idea!
Meat market go on supply and demand, flood the market with more carcasses price will drop reduce the amount of carcasses price will stabilise everybody now has thermal and digital more deer will get shot in the last few minutes of light, more animals will be wounded and lost because people don’t know what they’re doing.
And the price will drop
All stalkers care about is meat price pounds shillings and pence nothing more nothing less that is the curse of the modern Day stalkerPerhaps I don't have any idea.
But i was thinking of all stalker's ,
Sorry I took you last comments the wrong wayAll stalkers care about is meat price pounds shillings and pence nothing more nothing less that is the curse of the modern Day stalker
Proper deer management went out of the window years ago, now it’s all death and destruction nothing more nothing less, I am one of a few now who can remember what it was like years ago
The current low prices paid by Game Dealers will only fall further as more deer are culled (flooding the market) to meet the demands to control over population.People need to accept a shoot on sight principle for all deer and stop the misguided “I’ll leave that for next year” approach much favoured by those who take out clients.
We can return to those times when the numbers are better controlled.
Game dealer rates also have an impact for the larger species. Hauling a red out of a wet field for £1.40/kg is not an incentive
At last, somebody who sees it for actually what it is, best post on this thread yetThe current low prices paid by Game Dealers will only fall further as more deer are culled (flooding the market) to meet the demands to control over population.
Why on earth would anybody young want to set up a business for shooting deer, or start being a contractor?
There’s no money in it, by the time you’ve bought the kit got it all paying for it all or paid for it all you’ll be in the hole for nearly £60,000 – £70,000 a lot of debt just to shoot deer!
And to be brutally honest, that’s just to get the basic equipment you need to do an efficient job why anybody would even bother is beyond me
Agree. So it’s not an incentive. The reason I mentioned it is there NEEDS to be an incentive so maybe NE should subsidise? The current low prices paid by Game Dealers will only fall further as more deer are culled (flooding the market) to meet the demands to control over population.
