Tikka T1x/T3x stock compatibility

I'm looking at upgrading the stock on my T1x .22lr from the factory synthetic to something between MDT Field & XRS money wise.

I've read that stocks are compatible with both, but then the listings specify which one they are for so I'm a bit confused. Is it the bottom metal only that's different, so if I bought a T1x specific now I'd need to get T3x bottom metal in the future to make it work if I ever got a T3x?

I believe the mag inlet is different for the T1X version.

It accepts only the Tikka LR/HMR proprietary mags?

The T3/T3X version uses MDT/acis style mags....I have one on my .222

Yes i believe you are correct when you are talking about chassis with a bottom metal for ACIS mags etc. Standard Tikka stocks or something like a GRS where you use the tikka bottom metal (plastic) are pretty much universal.

I put a GRS bi frost Stock on my T1X which was made for a T3X (the T1X action has a blank plate to make it fit a T3X inlet). Made the rifle much nicer to handle and use, looks class too.

They are different and they are not interchangeable without modifications

Thanks, seems pretty clear then. I guess it's not a big deal at this sort of price point anyway (c.£3-500)
