I'm so tired of my legs being constantly full of bramble thorns. Of course one can send the dog into them for hunting, but when one want to fish here in the summer I can't avoid having to go through them.
Are there any recommendations for good pants that have reasonable resistance to bramble thorns, but at the same time aren't too warm for summer weather?
 
These, honestly they are brilliant, you can wade through brambles no problem. Wore them for 3 seasons, never been washed only in blood and mud and as good as new under the muck.
Not too heavy and i wear them all year round, they aren’t actually brown more khaki.
I keep meaning to buy another pair to squirrel away for when this pair gives up.

Barbour certainly used to make them, they were gorse proof, and very handy when needed.

Yes my ones are barbour and just keep going. They stop all the muck, blood and guts getting on your trousers to.

Very true! I am March to October personally as I’m too vain and like to steal a march on leg tan. My legs are consequently full of bramble, hawthorn, dog rose and blackthorn spikes. I spend a few minutes every week sat at work with a scalpel blade digging the thorns out. Some are irretrievable.

For the OP, Barbour waxed chaps are the solution if you don’t enjoy the blood letting. I have an old pair and a modern Bushwear pair. The old ones could stop a knife.

I have a window for shorts which runs from July 31st to August 2nd!

For £50 you’ve done well getting 3 seasons out of them!
 
Surely, brambles, nettles and blackthorns are all part of the beautiful shooting experience. Try ferreting in my part of Devon, you will soon build up some sort of immunity.:rofl:

ah yes the Lederhosen .

I had a mate that made tarps,swags,upholstered furniture that sewed a strip of soft supple furniture grade leather onto the front on my pants,They were incredibly robust and were worn every weekend when I was hound hunting sambar. The pants died before the leather did.
I have also Cabelas Briar Pants,they are a handy bit of gear too. I bought two pair 12-14 years ago and still wear them.
