Price of ammo now 🫣

In Germany ammo is also expensive.

I suppose when the so called leader of free World is hell bent on having wars burning up huge amounts of ammo, then any ammo will be expensive. Perhaps he should have stuck with being friends with paedophiles and a convicted sexual molester and fraudster. What a world we live in. Ammo costs are the least of our worries.

Eh? how many on here are using Tomahawk missles or Patriots? i don’t think many bullets have been fired in Iran.
Maybe put your TDS to one side, just for once.

I’m good for a year or 2 😂

And I was laughed at for loading copper at £1.50 a pop on the SD over 15 years ago 😂

I paid £60 yesterday
By chance a gun shop owner I know was in talking to them about ammo collection etc

I said these are £64.50 for a box (i hadn’t bought bullets for 6 months to test , I reload)

He looked at me funny and said that’s cheap , but the prices have went up …

That’s when I was shown the new price lists

I doubt that a rise of a pound or two per deer shot, in ammo costs, is ever going to impact on whether or not folk go stalking.
In all likelihood it'll be the cost of driving to and from your ground that stops you. You have to pay that even on blank outings.
I have to say I couldn't agree more, I hear the same argument trotted out over bismuth shot prices by people who can afford to shoot a £60 pheasant but not put a £1.50 shell in they're gun, don't misunderstood me, I don't agree with the lead ban at all, but really I don't think it's the vast majority of us old buggers who are really affected, my concern is the youngsters coming into the sport that may be priced out before they've even started?

When a box costs £100, and diesel £2/L, and you get £1/kg from the dealer on venison you sell, which you have to pay tax on - it equates to only going stalking when the weather is nice once in a while, when you have space and use for what venison you shoot to consume yourself. That does not equate to increasing the amount of deer culled in the uk

I guess no one will shoot foxes any more then

Agreed - and that doesn't even take into account your time out stalking, and the time spent recceing, maintenance etc. We average 1 deer every 3/4 outings, so when you add up the time commitment for each stalk and divide it by return from carcase, especially as we mostly shoot muntjac, it never works out very well!
