Hi RF76,

My apologies if you already knew this. I find it interesting that your GRS Bifrost stock fits a Tikka T3x CTR, am I correct in that it is a CTR and not one of the other T3x models ?

I bought a new GRS stock about two weeks ago from OWH, sold for Tikka T3x rifles, for my Tikka T3x CTR (also in 308). I assumed it would fit my Tikka T3x CTR because it is sold for Tikka T3x rifles. However it did not fit. My Tikka CTR was too wide for the slot in the GRS stock to slide into, by about 2 to 3 mm. I had to send the GRS stock back, bummer. OWH was 👍. It was only after this oopsie, that I found out the 'base' (magazine well ?) of the T3x CTR is wider than the other T3x models, that is why it did not fit. Optics Warehouse have since added a comment on their website to the GRS T3x stock, that it does not fit the T3x CTR. One has to get a stock from GRS made specifically for the T3x CTR, which I could not find in the UK at the time.

This is why I am curios as to how your Tikka T3x CTR fitted into your GRS stock, made for the Tikka T3x. I assume since your T3x CTR fits into this stock, other (non CTR) T3x models will not fit, or will be loose inside there. This is guessing on my part. Whichever way it is, it may be worth giving prospective buyers a heads-up to clarify their Tikka model is either a CTR, or not, just to be sure.

I gave up on getting a GRS stock, I ordered a much more expensive 🫣😭 MDT instead, fingers crossed it will fit. I am at the moment on a waiting list for it.

The GRS is CTR specific, and requires the respective bottom metal and magazine.

The Tikka action is a standard fit otherwise.

Everyones' preferences differ but don't think many others can rival the GRS for fit, grip and all round use. I had this paired with a Valhalla bipod & Muzzle brake and rarely got any shift in POI through muzzle flip.

This is the comment OWH added to their website against the GRS stocks:

"T3X CTR rifles will not fit this stock as the CTR uses a different magazine well which is NOT compatible which this stock."

I would have like to try that stock because it did feel great, but as I said, it did not fit.

This stock had a T3x Lite action/barrel in it. The bottom metal was purchased aftermarket and is an Atlasworx CTR version. The Magazine is a Tikka.

There are two types of Bifrost one for regular, and the other for CTR. Guess where I bought the CTR version from.

It all fitted perfectly, and worked even better.

If only the CTR set up worked with the older M595s...

I'd buy this in a heartbeat if it did but alas there's a 10mm (or so) difference between the position of the feed ramps of the T3 and M595 actions which prevents modification being possible. Just have to stick with the GRS Berserk & 5 round Tikka mags for the M595... :thumb:

The useful thing I found with the Grs CTR stock was it would allow me to fit a T3 lite in it and a T1X. The only "issue" being there is a very small gap down the sides of the bottom metal for the T1X. I used the CTR bottom metal for the lite and used CTR mags

FYI. The T3x GRS stock (not for CTR) that arrived, came with a bottom metal plate perfect for it. There was a huge difference in the size of the plate that arrived with (for) the GRS, and that of the factory plate my CTR came with. The factory plate on my CTR, would never have fitted on the (not for CTR) T3x GRS stock I had in my hands, not even close, there was a huge difference in the length.

One stock is for the regular T3x

The other is specifically for the T3x CTR

Neither is compatible with one another.

This one advertised is solely for the T3x CTR.
