stick with it to see some awesome footage.

Stunning stuff, he filmed a good chunk of that footage from, and around, the South Devon coast, where I live. I have fished from the very same spot he filmed the Blue Fin, and experienced the very same thing. Tuna chasing Garfish, one of the most amazing natural things I have ever witnessed. A pleasure and an honour.

He is a remarkable filmmaker, proper “out there”. Very well respected in these ere parts.

You Tube search: Tuna Start Point. There are a few to watch.

Some of those fish are 8' long. Unfortunately man has basically destroyed the wild tuna stocks from what they once were.

From a fisherman colleague:

It's gotten out of hand the numbers of them out there. 5 years ago it was just rumours of people hooking the odd one whilst out shark fishing. Then they started tagging them to get an idea of numbers and now. It's been opened up to to allow anyone to fish for them. But all catch and release unfortunately. No big bonus pay day bringing one of them in to sell to the local fish monger. 😂

I got a friend who has a house in mevagissy harbour and he regularly watches them no more than 50-100 yards off the shore feeding. Unbelievable. It's about £250 for 8hrs fishing and surprisingly there is no guarantee of hooking them but they are good sport on the right gear.

It would appear we have abundant density of Garfish for sure, they will also chase shoals of Mackerel . But let’s not forget, Britain had a thriving Blue Fin Tuna fishery in the past, especially in the North Sea and South West coast……Now they are back! Great to see.

Another one, as soon as you see the Garfish, it isn’t long to wait for a Tuna. For those that know, the boats you see are fishing the “Skerries”
